Jonathan's things are still in the house but I have gotten used to them being there without him being here. I have put some stuff in containers. Today is one of those days I am missing him more than others. I put on my engagement ring for some reason today. I guess I just wanted to see it sitting there with my wedding ring and his wedding ring. As much as I am okay on my own, I definitely love the companionship of my boyfriend John. The last 8 months have been nothing less than great. He is such a blessing to me. It is hard to believe that it will be 2 years in November since losing Jonathan. It makes me realize how much can change in such a short time.
Some of my friends have asked the question whether in the depths of my pain, would I have ever thought I would be where I am today. Absolutely not. I was going to be a nun. I was never going to marry again. I could never envision living in this house all alone. I did not know at the time that life could possibly continue and if it could, that I could ever be happy again. The healing process astounds me.
I planted my garden last weekend. I feel so blessed to be able to continue to do these things. I can't wait for what the next few years will bring.
